The game introduces real-time action battles similar to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, combined with the return of Mega Evolution—the powerful battle mechanic first introduced in Pokémon X and Y. This time, Mega Evolution plays a central role in both gameplay and story.
A mysterious figure named AZ and the legendary Eternal Flower Floette are central to the game's narrative, along with Zygarde in its various forms. Players will uncover the secrets of the ancient weapon and the true meaning of the "Z-A" in the title.
