Mythical Pokémon

Mythical Pokémon are an exceptionally rare classification of Legendary Pokémon that can only be obtained through special event distributions, limited-time promotions, or special in-game events. Unlike regular Legendary Pokémon that can be encountered during normal gameplay, Mythical Pokémon are never available through standard game progression.

The first Mythical Pokémon, Mew, was discovered hidden in the code of Pokémon Red and Green and became one of gaming's most famous secrets. Since then, each generation has introduced new Mythical Pokémon with unique designs, powerful abilities, and rich backstories. Notable examples include Celebi (the time-traveling guardian of forests), Jirachi (the wish-granting steel fairy), Arceus (the creator of the Pokémon universe), and most recently, Pecharunt from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Mythical Pokémon are characterized by their 600 base stat total (with few exceptions), inability to breed, and unique signature moves. They often play central roles in Pokémon movies and special anime episodes.
