Starter Pokémon
All Starter Pokémon - Your First Partners
From Bulbasaur to Sprigatito - Every Trainer's Beginning
What Are Starter Pokémon?
Starter Pokémon (also known as First Partner Pokémon) are the first Pokémon a new trainer receives at the beginning of their journey. Since the very first Pokémon games, trainers have been given the choice between three starter Pokémon, each representing one of three elemental types: Grass 🌿, Fire 🔥, and Water 💧.
This tradition forms a type triangle where Grass is strong against Water, Water is strong against Fire, and Fire is strong against Grass. This balanced design ensures that no matter which starter you choose, each one has advantages and disadvantages, encouraging strategic thinking from the very beginning.
The Pokémon Legends series offers a unique twist by featuring starters from different generations, allowing players to experience classic favorites in new adventures. Legends: Arceus features Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott, while Legends: Z-A brings together Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile in the reimagined Lumiose City.
